Jim Hussell

‘Big’ Jim is a “new-old” face & voice on 106.5FM, having been one of the original Radio Tircoed crew way back in 2004.

Back then he was a Friday-and-Monday guy working both points of the weekend with Feelgood Friday & then with The Rock Show on Monday nights.

He’d previously been a researcher & presenter on Swansea Sound/SoundWave & CBC/Touch Radio/Red Dragon, as well as being a regular contributor on BBC Radio Wales & Real Radio.

The Big Four-Oh Radio Show started as a germ of an idea in 2025; Jim was feeling the need to flex some of his creative muscles after 8 years away from radio.

Jim lives in deepest darkest west Wales with his wife Sam, their daughter Rosanna (yes, from the song!) & the queen of the castle, their Cocker Spaniel named Snoopy. He also has a step-son, Matt, who is the warden of Carew Castle in Pembrokeshire where he lives with his partner Molly.

Jim is very proud of his family & dedicates as much time to them as possible when he’s not on the road with his various projects. ‘Big’ Jim is still very much in a creative mood, so it’s great to welcome him to WCR – Welsh Coast Radio
